Admissions Open for BE / BTech Programmes under Foreign Nationals (FN), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC)

Foreign Nationalc(FN)

“Foreign National” means the Citizen of the Countries other than India who are not of Indian origin as defined under OCI.

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) means Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) who were citizens of India on 26th January, 1950 or thereafter or were eligible to become citizens of India on 26th January, 1950 except who is or had been a citizen of Pakistan, Bangladesh or such other country.

Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries (CIWGC)

The Children of the parents who are working in Gulf Countries are eligible to apply under CIWGC.

Eligibility and academic Qualifications required for BE/BTech (Four Year) Degree programmes

For admission to B.E./B.Tech Courses, candidates should have completed 12 years of schooling (equivalent to 10+2 system of Indian Education). They must have studied and obtained a pass with Good Grades as per their systems of education with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their subjects in the qualifying examination.

Candidate should have studied in English Medium or English as one of the subjects in the qualifying Examination

Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. (10 + 2) of Indian System or its equivalent (completed 12 years of school education).

The Candidate should have passed in all the subjects and scored a minimum average of 45 percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.

If the candidate has grade certificates, he/she has to produce either the actual marks or equivalent marks for the respective grades. In case equivalent mark range is given for grades by the respective examination authorities, only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) will be taken into account.

The candidate should provide equivalent mark or mark range for grades from the Principal.

The candidate has to provide a pass certificate, if it is not clear from the mark sheet whether the candidate has passed all the subjects. Mark sheets with voluminous data or confusing formats will not be accepted.

Selection Procedure

The selection committee constituted by Sri Eshwar College of Engineering as per the guidelines of the Institution will select the candidates under this scheme. The selection is purely provisional and is subject to the confirmation from the Anna University, Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Since the medium of instruction is ENGLISH in Sri Eshwar College of Engineering, only those candidates who have studied in the English Language medium / English as one of the subjects in the qualifying degree alone will generally be considered for admissions.

The candidates have to indicate their order of Preference of Branches of study in the application.

Mode of selection

Selection Committee will scrutinize the applications received based on eligibility criteria and intimate the applicants.

ATTACH THE FOLLOWING SCANNED COPY OF DOCUMENTS AND CERTIFICATES FOR ONLINE REGISTRATION

Foreign Nationals/OCI

  • Passport of the candidate.
  • Valid student Visa / OCI card (In case of Citizen of Indian Origin).
  • Proof of Financial support like parents bank statement for the last six months
  • School Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate. If these certificates are not issued in the respective country, an equivalent transfer certificate from the Principal has to be specially obtained.

For 10+2 type of Indian Boards OR Foreign Boards

  • Mark sheets of Secondary School Leaving Certificate (X Standard) or Equivalent.
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (XII Standard) or equivalent*** (OR)
  • For 8+4 type of Foreign Boards: Mark Sheets from 8th to 12th standards.
  • For 9+3 type of Foreign Boards: Mark Sheets from 9th to 12th standards.

CIWGC

  • Recent NRI status certificate of the (Father / Mother / Legal Guardian*) issued by the Indian Embassy of the respective country with their seal.
  • Employment Certificate of the NRI (Father / Mother / Legal Guardian). In the case of self employment, nature of business, annual income and required proof: Income-Tax paid (for the last 3 years) to be produced.
  • NRE / NRI bank account statement of the NRI (Father / Mother / Legal Guardian), at least for the last six months.
  • Valid Indian Passport of the NRI (Father / Mother / Legal Guardian).
  • School Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate. If these certificates are not issued in the respective country, an equivalent transfer certificate from the Principal has to be specially obtained.

For 10+2 type of Indian Boards OR Foreign Boards

  • Mark sheets of Secondary School Leaving Certificate (X Standard) or equivalent
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (XII Standard) or equivalent *** (OR)
  • For 8+4 type of Foreign Boards: Mark Sheets from 8th to 12th standards.
  • For 9+3 type of Foreign Boards: Mark Sheets from 9th to 12th standards.
    *** The candidate who completed Higher Secondary Course (Other than CBSE/Tamil Nadu Board) has to submit the equivalency certificate obtained from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. In case of grading, lower bound of the mark ranges of a grade should be taken for calculating the percentage of marks.
  • The originals of the above mentioned certificates must be surrendered to the college office at the time of admission for verification by DoTE.

Visa Requirements for Foreign National Candidates

Candidates who are admitted under this scheme must obtain valid student visa issued by Indian missions abroad.
