SESWA’s One Rupee Scheme – Big Changes start from Small Steps…
A simple but very effective idea promoted by our students is the One Rupee Coin a Day by Every Student which also lead to establishing Sri Eshwar Social Welfare Association, way back in 2010. Since then, every day, a rupee is donated by every student and the collected money is utilized for carrying out various social activities. The list of activities carried out include helping poor students with financial assistance, support to old age homes and orphanages, tribal area development, medical expenses support for the needy and so on.
An annual blood donation camp is organized by SESWA in collaboration with Coimbatore Medical College Hospital wherein hundreds of students and faculty members volunteer to donate blood.
With global warming becoming a major threat to the mankind, SESWA took up the activity of tree plantation to reduce the carbon footprint. In collaboration with forest and highways department, around 3000 saplings have been planted on the Coimbatore-Trichy Road, Coimbatore-Pollachi Road and the road that leads to Kinathukadavu from our college.
